Dr. Nika Omid, MD, FACS is a board-certified ophthalmologist and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. Her expertise in laser cataract surgery and implantation of monofocal, toric, accommodating, multifocal, and extended-depth-of-focus lens implants provides our patients with the most advanced vision-correcting options. She also has advanced training in oculoplastics (eyelid surgeries), including upper and lower blepharoplasties.
Dr. Nika Omid graduated among the top of her class with Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa distinctions from the University of California, San Diego in 2001 with degrees in Biochemistry and Cellular Biology with Honors. She then attended medical school at the University of California San Diego where she was the recipient of the prestigious Dean’s Scholarship and a National Eye Institute Grant. After completing her internship at University of California San Diego, Department of Internal Medicine, she went on to complete her ophthalmology residency at University of California Irvine, Gavin Herbert Eye Institute.
Dr. Nika Omid is a Diplomate of the American Board of Ophthalmology and a member of the American Society for Cataract and Refractive Surgery. She is recognized as one of America’s Top Ophthalmologists by Consumers Research Council of America. She is a certified Catalys Precision Laser System Surgeon, VISX Excimer Laser Surgeon, and Trabectome Surgeon. Dr. Nika Omid is on the medical staff of HOAG Hospital. She has been involved in several research studies and peer-reviewed publications, as well as presenting at multiple national research conferences.
Dr. Nika Omid and her husband, Dr. Neyssan Tebyani, live in Newport Beach with their two children. In addition to English, she speaks Farsi and Spanish.
